The teddy bear is a stuffed toy bear. It is an enduring, traditional form of a stuffed animal, often serving the purpose of comforting children. (wow hahahahahaha. Like, awwww give you a bear so please be happy XD)

The name Teddy Bear comes from November 1902 American President Theodore Roosevelt's hunting trip to Mississippi, to which he was invited by Mississippi Governor Andrew H. Longino. There were several other hunters competing, and most of them had already shot something. A suite of Roosevelt's attendants, led by Holt Collier,[1] cornered, clubbed, and tied to a willow tree an American Black Bear after a long exhausting chase with hounds. They called Roosevelt to the site and suggested he shoot it. He refused to shoot the bear himself, deeming this unsportsmanlike,[2] but instructed that the bear be killed to put it out of its misery, and it became the topic of a political cartoon by Clifford Berryman in The Washington Post on November 16, 1902.[3] While the initial cartoon of an adult black bear lassoed by a white handler and a disgusted Roosevelt had symbolic overtones, later issues of that and other Berryman cartoons made the bear smaller and cuter.[4]
A Brooklyn store owner, Morris Michtom, saw the drawing of Roosevelt and the bear cub and was inspired to create a new toy. He created a little stuffed bear cub and put it in his shop window with a sign that read "Teddy's bear." The toys were an immediate success and Michtom founded the Ideal Novelty and Toy Co., which still exists today.[2]
At the same time, in Germany the Steiff firm, unaware of Michtom's bear, produced a stuffed bear from Richard Steiff's designs. They exhibited the toy at the Leipzig Toy Fair in March 1903 and exported 3000 to the United States.[5][2][6]
By 1906 manufacturers other than Michtom and Steiff had joined in and the craze for Teddy Bears was such that ladies carried them everywhere, children were photographed with them, and Roosevelt used one as a mascot in his bid for re-election. (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
American educator Seymour Eaton wrote the children's book series The Roosevelt Bears,[7] while composer John Bratton wrote "The Teddy Bear Two Step" music which with Jimmy Kennedy's lyrics became the song "The Teddy Bears' Picnic". (hmm I shall search for the song)

Commercially made, mass-produced teddy bears are predominantly made as toys for children. These bears have safety joints for attaching arms legs and heads. They must have securely fastened eyes that do not pose a choking hazard for small children.(hahahahahahahaa) These "plush" bears must meet a rigid standard of construction in order to be marketed to children in the United States and in the European Union.

Heh. It's heartwarming to talk to old friends. Just pick up where you left and yes, you are on again. We didn't feel any awkwardness when we talk for the first time in these few months. She decided to sing to me a stupid song with all the gibberish. kumukumu thing. And started talking about fish and our lifes and naming random things. Well, I am mentally unstable for the time being, so I don't make sense, though I always made dollars. Just feel real happy after talking to moo. Heh. Okay gotta go bye.

Hello! finally back. Haha but I am going off soon. Have the irritating tuition pushed forward to 1230. Heh. And I have loads of homework not done. 2history essays, a couple of geog worksheets, bio revision, chem revision, humans revision. Oh and math papers. Oh yes, I shall post about yesterday.



After school went out with jessie xinyung alicia. When for macs at kap. Then went btp to get something for xy. Haha. Then blah blah and came back around 5. Then on the bus something so amusing happened. I was randomly staring out of the bus window (near nanyang alr) then I saw this car beside our bus had a nygh logo on the car. Then I was thinking, "ehh nanyang one leh, see I know or not, maybe is some teacher." Then I was staring staring then I saw a very very familiar shirt sleeve haha. Then in the end it's ms chong! haha so funny.

okay continue the story. Yep so I was like ._. what on earth. Like that also can see. Then alicia and jessie didn't manage to see her. Alicia was babbling about how ms chong is speeding because she drove faster than a bus haha, a bus stopping soon. Lol. Then huey yee suggested to buy a cake for both xinyung and jessie so alicia xinyi and huey yee went out again. And they bought ice cream cake! Yum yum but they reached back late, around 715pm. Then was rushing down with cups for random ice. haha. For drinks. And you know where I got the ice? haha kope from canteen. Lol then I was calculating the possibility of seeing mr chia downstairs, I guess it was quite high so brought my cd along haha in the end really met him. But I was having my 'coughing craziness' so couldn't talk. Or I will choke and can't inhale for very long. Haha must thank band for expanding my lungs, if not I might have choked myself and died. Haha then it's so hilarious I was pointing pointing. And mr chia was giving me the weird look. back to the cake thing. So we went to borrow a lighter from mr lim and he gave us a rusty one haha can't turn. then in the end we had imaginary fire. We off the room lights and brought the cake in. Jessie was blushing like mad. haha so funny then we sang the very outoftune happy birthday song. then played games haha. truth game. Then they wanted to play poker?( I still cant spell it) haha so played chess with alicia. learnt how to play 黑白棋。heh. then played some math game until 2+ then slept. And the others continued until don't-know-what time. Slept already haha. Okay that's all. Shall go and do homework. Byes!
